There’s two questions we get asked the most;
1. What is Goon? (and many of you will know by now!!)
“Goon” – an Australian term referring to affordable wine, cask wine or boxed wine (bag in box). Usually housed in a Silver Bladder… (Sauce of the Silver Sun)
2. What is Slap the Goon (STG), why this name?
Slap the Goon came from exactly that, watching a group of Aussies and Backpackers actually holding the Silver Bladder and giving it a good Slap. We were watching people having carefree, loose but fun times… no boundaries, no boarders… the common denominator here was the “Goon”.
Thus STG has grown into an Entertainment and Clothing brand that connects people and brings them together in ways that create good times, good memories and good mates… “Slap the Goon” is merely symbolic of this direction….
In addition and very much due to the fact that we have so many foreign visitors to our shores, we are about bringing you a light hearted look at a wide variety of some of the crazy shizzle that goes on both in Australia and around the globe…
Yes we do pay tribute to the Australian Icon that is “Goon” and its famous packaging… (which was first show cased on our Tees – the Classic Logo Design) but we also keep you pleasantly amused on many fronts…. we welcome your views, thoughts and input …
So take STG with a grain of salt, Join the Revolution (of keeping it chilled), tell your friends and “LET THE GOON TIMES ROLL”
